The best excuse is the Lima 2019 Parapan American Games, because it has been possible to make a Road to Lima (workshops), where we have brought together many people from
different countries with the same passion, which is to know the Paralympic Movement. We are here educating local officials in track and field with the hopes that we can provide them with the education so they can be officials for the Parapan American Games coming up in August. Coming to a workshop like Road to Lima, is very beneficial for us coaches to learn new
preparation techniques, to have new experiences so we are able to massify Para sport and thus capture many more talents that have not yet
been discovered in our country. For me it is an honor, to be in this course.
Being in this new project, the Road to Lima 2019 which gives me the opportunity not only to train with great professionals of the Foundation, but also to be able to get to know these facilities that soon I will be seeing with my athlete enjoying and raising the flag of the Dominican Republic. The workshop gives us the precise tools
we need to be able to pass the true and positive message we have to share with society. In this training season in Road to Lima,
I learned with coaches, how to train as a couple… The first day I met athletes from other countries
like Peru, Argentina, Venezuela. It’s a nice experience. The benefit that I take from this workshop is to put into
practice everything that was learned. and to pass on the knowledge to others. It has been a very nice and good experience and
I’m very grateful for having been asked to participate. The fact of having more than eight or nine countries,
per (Road to Lima) session and more than 30, 40 and today more than 100 participants has made more people be aware of and get to know the (Paralympic) Movement, so they get involved when they return to their countries by expanding the message of the Paralympic Movement.
