[Music] Hello I’m Ilene Cohen Executive Director of Athletics here at Ocean County College. I’m here to tell you a little bit about all the exciting things that have happened this year with our OCC Viking sport teams. Recently, we wrapped up our successful fall season with our men’s and women’s soccer teams playing hard all year with players earning honors based on their performance on the field. We’re really expecting big things from them next year under coach Sal Colino for the men, and Jen Ritter for the women. Our Cross-country team performed outstandingly constantly placing in the top ten among two-year colleges at every meet they participated in. Both the men’s and women’s team competed at the national championship up in Massachusetts. This is where our men’s team finished in the top five in the country! Our head coach and OCC hall-of-famer Jen Nelson was named region 19 coach of the year. Way to go Jen! Our women’s tennis program under new head coach Megan Steinberg had a successful season finishing fourth in the region 19 tournament. All six members of the team were named to the second team all Garden State Athletic Conference at the end of their tennis season. In women’s volleyball, our team led by head coach Sandy Stout had another strong year they advanced the region 19 championship coming up short and then they’ve ranked among the top teams in the Garden State Athletic Conference for the last four seasons. As far as where we are and where we’re headed right now our men’s and women’s basketball season are currently underway check us out on the web OCC Vikings.com. See where they’re playing up next our schedules there. Come support the teams we’d love to see you at the games. Looking ahead to the spring, we have our Men’s Lacrosse, Baseball, Softball, Golf, Men’s Tennis, all beginning their seasons this spring. Lacrosse won the region 19 championship for the second time last year and we’re really focusing in on a hopeful of a three-peat. Baseball and softball travel to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to start their seasons in early spring and golf and tennis begin in mid-March as well.
